Pipes are an effective and integral part of the human society's everyday applications. These applications include transporting water, sewage & sanitation, oil & gas etc, which are used by the housing as well as industrial sectors. The Indian pipesindustry is one of the top manufacturing hubs globally with a presence across all categories of pipes viz steel, cement and plastic. Also, owing to its locational advantage and quality of products, India has centered itself as a major exporting hub to countries such as the USA, Europe and the Middle East. Historically,the demand for Indian steel pipes industry is a factor of changes in the global oil &gas industry, whereas the demand for plastic pipes and tubes is principally driven by improvement in the irrigation, water supply and the sewage system of the domestic economy.In the past few years (FY06 to FY13), domestic demand for steel pipes & tubes segment increased at a CAGR of about 6%, while demand for plastic pipes increased at a CAGR of about 13%.
